Wes Trochlil, president of Effective Database Management, is the most published author on data management in the association market. For over 30 years, Wes has worked in and with over 200 associations, non-profits, and membership organizations throughout the US, Canada, and Australia, from helping organizations select and implement data management systems, to using the database and data for improved marketing and communications, and advancing the organization’s mission.

Barbara J. Armentrout, CAE

Barbara J. Armentrout, CAE, is a familiar face to many in the association and nonprofit world. She was on staff at the Direct Marketing Association of Washington and National Court Reporters Association, and was membership consultant for the Northern Virginia Technology Council. She was at Marketing General Inc. for a decade, where she specialized in membership marketing and nondues revenue. She also served on the program teams for the former Alexandria Brown Bag (now AIIOT) and the Reston/Loudoun Idea Swaps, as well as ASAE’s Greater Washington initiative. Barbara is now a freelance consultant, and a favored role is representing Aplusify to help associations, nonprofits, and higher ed institutions solve managed services needs involving Salesforce, Fonteva, and Nimble platforms. Barbara is a Washington, DC, native who recently relocated to Florida to continue her consulting practice in year-round sunshine. She lives in Boca Raton with her husband, writer Michael S. Schwartz.
